I lived in South East Asia and had the amazing opportunity to meet, work and observe Chinese calligraphers working on the dynamisms of the lines of calligraphy. As I was studying Chinese calligraphy I discovered a new form of abstraction and the power of a single brush stroke.
The spontaneous gesture that created the brush strokes of this painting is the product of the analytical rigor and my inner subconscious, the rationalism and the intuition, the calculation and the imagination. From these apparent contradictions comes energy, the tension that runs through all of us. With this expression, I’m able to show my deepest emotions, my primal realities and to express that repressed part of myself.
