Burlesque is a painting on paper that depicts a group of joyful women rendered in a free graphic and comedic style. By stretching and pulling freely the contours of their bodies I intentionally exaggerate the shapes of their figures. The overlapping outlines create a dramatic, at times grotesque but sophisticated look that captures the burlesque mood of the painting.
