ILARIA ARPINO

Like sculpture, I consider ceramics an essential plastic art. Ceramic sculptures can take various forms, many of which are functional. The pieces I am presenting were not created with the intention of being functional; rather, they were designed with the intent of highlighting their masses and voids which define their minimal form in space. The painted artwork depicts an infinite panorama of figurative silhouettes and geometric shapes flowing around the concave surface of the vessels. These artworks are a collaboration with my husband Andy that handmade each vessels.
